Baro — block-based app builder
Baro is an editor for building apps by picking blocks instead of writing code. Place blocks, reorder them and choose copy and a theme, and the app config file (app.json) is generated. When you're done, download the deployment bundle, push it to GitHub and connect it to RIDM Apps hosting. After the build, it goes live at <name>.ridm.ai. Blocks show results in apps that have the console API key in the RIDM Apps environment variable HRUM_API_KEY or have "AI connection" turned on in the app details. Without a key the screens still load, with a notice where the results would be.

Baro Studio opens once you sign in to the console. Below are sample images showing how it works.
How it works
-
Pick blocks
Tap blocks such as Manseryeok, today's fortune or compatibility in Assets to add them to the screen.
-
Edit
Change copy, colors and fonts, and link buttons to other screens. Drag and drop, like in Figma.
-
Preview
Try the real app on the phone screen next to the editor. Available once you apply for hosting.
-
Publish
Save and publish, and anyone can visit the app at your address.
Baro Studio opens once you sign in.
Steps
- Pick blocks — place the ones you want from Manseryeok, today's fortune, compatibility and dream interpretation, and reorder them. The top block is the app's first screen.
- Copy and theme — change the copy in the provided fields and choose a theme and accent color that read well in both light and dark mode. Definitive claims about health or life and death, and exaggerated claims, are not saved.
- Edit while you watch — the real app screen, drawn with sample data, appears next to the editor. It redraws with every change, and you can tap buttons to move between screens. Available on accounts that have applied for hosting.
- Download the deployment bundle — a zip with
app.json,DockerfileandREADME.mdis built right in the browser for you to download. - Publish on RIDM Apps — create a GitHub repository from the bundle and connect it to RIDM Apps; it goes live after the build. For blocks to show real results, the app needs an HRUM API key (
HRUM_API_KEY). Put a key issued under API Keys in the console into the RIDM Apps environment variables, or turn on "AI connection" in the app details to add it automatically. Without a key the screens load, with a notice instead of results. Never put the API key in the repository.
What works now and what's coming
- Works now — assembling Saju and fortune blocks, editing copy and themes, saving drafts (in your browser only), downloading the deployment bundle, publishing on RIDM Apps (blocks show results in apps with the console API key in
HRUM_API_KEYor with "AI connection" on) - Preview — try the real app screen, drawn with sample data, next to the Baro Studio editor (accounts that have applied for hosting)
- Take payments block — app visitors pay through the HRUM Payments checkout, and you receive the proceeds through Toss payout services under Payouts in the console. It opens once you are registered and approved as a seller (individual, sole proprietor or company) under Payouts in the console.
- There's an AI chat block too — a block that chats with your app's visitors (Korean-language apps, one per app). AI apps such as character chat with long-term memory are built with code using an AI coding tool, as in the character chat app ebook (Korean).
Cost
Building in the editor uses no credits. When a published app calls a block, the charge comes out of the credits of the API key in that app. Prices for the API each block calls are on the pricing page, and hosting starts with a free plan (hosting plans).
FAQ
Can I build an app without knowing how to code?
Picking blocks, copy and themes takes no code. To publish, you push the downloaded deployment bundle to a GitHub repository and connect it to RIDM Apps — you can hand that part to an AI coding tool. For blocks to show results in the published app, put your console API key in the RIDM Apps environment variable HRUM_API_KEY, or turn on "AI connection" in the app details.
Which blocks are there?
Manseryeok (the Korean Four Pillars calendar), today's fortune, compatibility, dream interpretation and AI chat. There's no chat block with long-term memory yet.
Can my app take payments from its users?
Yes. Add the "Take payments" block from the Baro app editor or Baro Studio, set a product name and price, and visitors pay through the HRUM Payments checkout when they tap the button. You receive the proceeds through Toss payout services under Payouts in the console. Payments open in the published app once you are registered and approved as a seller (individual, sole proprietor or company) under Payouts in the console. Until then, visitors see "Payments aren't available right now. Please contact the seller." For apps you code yourself, see Taking payments in your app in the RIDM Apps hosting guide.
Where are my drafts saved?
Drafts are saved only in the browser you're using; the app's content is never sent to the server. To keep editing on another device, download app.json and load it in the editor.
How am I charged?
Building in the editor uses no credits. When a published app calls a block, the charge comes out of the credits of the API key in that app, and hosting starts with a free plan.
Want to write the code yourself?
If you need something the blocks don't do, build the app with an AI coding tool and host it on RIDM Apps. Start the Saju API integration with the developer Get Started guide, and app building with the free ebooks (Korean).
